
Through our relationship with advisory firm Saunderson House, we are delighted to have access to a special talk with guest speaker Stephen Green, Chairman of HSBC Holdings to discuss ‘the global economy’s shift towards the East’. The talk will start promptly at 12.30pm, followed by a buffet lunch. The lunch for those who stay will conclude at 2pm.
Stephen Green is Group Chairman of HSBC Holdings plc. He was born in England on 7 November 1948 and has degrees from Oxford University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr Green began his career with the British Government’s Ministry of Overseas Development. In 1977 he joined McKinsey & Co Inc, management consultants, with whom he undertook assignments in Europe, North America and the Middle East. He joined The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited in 1982 and became Group Chief Executive on 1 June 2003 and Group Chairman on 26 May 2006. He is Chairman of HSBC Bank plc. He is also a director of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited and of HSBC North America Holdings Inc. He became Chairman of the British Bankers’ Association in November 2006. He is also a trustee of The British Museum, and an honorary trustee of Peking University. In April 2009 he was appointed a non-executive director of BASF SE. He has recently been nominated as deputy president of the CBI.
