Pi Capital is pleased to announce it will be co-hosting an event with Leaders’ Quest on 9 December in Mayfair at 6pm for 6.30pm. Leaders’ Quest is a social enterprise that takes international leaders on intense, inspiring one week experiential learning programmes to countries that are going to shape the future of the world – Brazil, China, India, Russia and parts of Africa. The purpose of Leaders’ Quest is to enable us to understand these markets more deeply and to make wiser decisions, while building a better world. Many Leaders’ Quest alumni are Pi Capital members.
We are fortunate to have a distinguished panel of speakers: Niall Fitzgerald, Chairman of Thomson Reuters; Andy Rubin, CEO of Pentland Brands; and Peter Wheeler, Head of Wholesale Banking West for Standard Chartered; the panel will be moderated by David Grayson, Director of the Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility and Professor of Corporate Responsibility at the Cranfield School of Management.
Niall FitzGerald KBE, Chairman, Thomson Reuters: Niall is Chair of the Corporate Governance Committee and a member of the Human Resources Committee. He joined the Board of Reuters as a non-executive director in 2003 and was appointed Chairman in 2004. Previously, Mr. FitzGerald was Chairman and CEO of Unilever and spent over thirty years with the company in a variety of commercial and financial jobs in several countries. He is Chairman of the Nelson Mandela Legacy Trust (UK) and was appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the British Museum in 2006. He also co-Chairs the Investment Climate Facility (ICF) for Africa. He is Chairman of the International Business Council, a member of the Foundation Board of the World Economic Forum and also a Trustee of the Leverhulme Trust. He is a member of various advisory bodies, including the Advisory Board of Spencer Stuart and the Advisory Board of Tsinghua University. He is a senior advisor to Morgan Stanley International.
Andy Rubin, Chief Executive, Pentland Brands: Pentland Brands plc is a London based brand management group which owns or operates under license the following sports, outdoor and fashion brands worldwide: Speedo, Kickers, Mitre, Berghaus®, Red or Dead, Brasher Boot, KangaROOS, Ellesse, Lacoste (footwear) and Ted Baker (footwear). Andy is a graduate of Trinity College, Cambridge and Harvard Business School. He is a director of several charities including In Kind Direct.
Given the volatility of the markets and the scrutiny of the global financial system, this event is remarkably timely. Leader’s Quest believe that responsible leadership which bridges countries, cultures and sectors is more important than ever.
