Lady Barbara Judge is Chairman of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority.  She is also chairman of the School of Oriental & African Studies. In addition, she is deputy chairman of Forte Energy plc. She is also a non-executive director of Massey Energy and a number of other public and private companies. Prior thereto she was a founder, and was chairman of Private Equity Investor plc, a fund of funds listed on the London Stock Exchange, and was executive chairman of Whitworths plc. She was the first woman main board director of Samuel Montagu & Co., (when she resided in Hong Kong) and News International, as well as head of international private banking at Bankers Trust. She was also previously Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In addition, she is currently also a trustee of the Royal Academy of Arts, a public member of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants and a member of the Governing Body of The Ditchley Foundation, among others.
