Vice President and Corporate Secretary of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank with a mission to improve social and economic outcomes in Asia and beyond. Headquartered in Beijing, it commenced operations in January 2016 and has now grown to 84 approved members from around the world.

AIIB offers sovereign and non-sovereign financing for sound and sustainable projects in energy and power, transportation and telecommunications, rural infrastructure and agriculture development, water supply and sanitation, environmental protection, and urban development and logistics.

Sir Danny joined the AIIB in February 2016, two months after the Bank was inaugurated. He is a member of the senior management team, with responsibility for governance and the Bank’s relations with its shareholders, Board of Governors, and Board of Directors.

From 2005-15 he was the Liberal Democrat MP for Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey. Between 2010-15 he served as Chief Secretary to the Treasury in the Coalition Government.

Sir Danny is a Visiting Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford University, and an Honorary Fellow at St Anne’s College, Oxford.

AIIB's core principles are openness, transparency, independence and accountability and its mode of operation is "Lean, Clean and Green".
